The School of Art houses extensive teaching and research collections of fine and decorative art that date from the 15th century to the present.

The public galleries display a varied selection of changing exhibitions from the fine art collections, by invited artists and touring shows. Only a small proportion of the artefacts held are on display at any one time; the study collections are available by appointment. The School also administers the Ceramics Gallery and Collection, Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
