An Elizabethan manor house provides the setting for a vast array of exhibits, including fine art, musical instruments, stained glass, ceramics, costume, military memorabilia, archaeological finds, ethnographical artefacts and natural history specimens.
With over 660,000 objects in the collection there is no shortage of things to discover, from tiny carved Japanese netsuke and Edo period woodblock prints to an Egyptian mummy that's 2,700 years old. Children will enjoy the roar of the dinosaur in the Earth Gallery, as well as regular storytelling and holiday activities.
